MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Erskine College women's soccer team (1-4-2, 1-4-2 CC) fell to Chowan University (6-1-1, 5-1-1 CC) 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.

THE MATCH
The hosts Chowan quickly gained control of this match, scoring their first of two goals in just under four minutes. Sierra Gonzalez found the back of the net off a free kick at 3:37, her shot burst through keeper
Cheyenne Fuller's gloves and in off the near post. The Hawks led 1-0 at halftime and then doubled their lead in the 86th minute when Nicole Mejia beat Fuller with a header off a corner kick. Gonzalez picked up the assist as Chowan defended out the final minutes for a 2-0 win.
THE TEAM
Chowan out shot Erskine 15 to 10 with an 8 to 3 advantage in shots on goal. Both squads managed four corner kicks.

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Fleet enter the Conference Carolinas pool play tournament as the #9 seed and face off with top seeded North Greenville on April 18 and then play King University on April 21.
