THE SERIES
The Lions now have a 4-2 lead in the series all-time and have won each of the last three meetings between the teams.
Â
THE MATCH
Following a 30-minute delay to start the match due to inclement weather, the visiting Emmanuel Lions wasted no time getting on the board as Hannah Logue opened the scoring 42 seconds into the match. Emmanuel controlled possession and chances created through the first half, but the Fleet were solid in defense after the opening goal and went into the halftime break trailing 1-0. After growing into the match in the final 20 minutes of the first half, Erskine again began the second half on the back foot. And the Lions made the Fleet pay. Emmanuel doubled their lead in the 70th minute and a pair of Lions' goals in the final ten minutes sealed a 4-0 win for Emmanuel.
THE TEAM
Erskine was outshot 17-6 and managed just three shots on goal to Emmanuel's 13. The Lions (6) also had twice as many corner kicks as the Fleet (3).
Â
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Fleet conclude the 2021 regular season on April 11 on the road at Chowan University (3-1-1, 2-1-1 CC) at 10:00 a.m. The Fleet are winless in three matches against the Hawks, but the last two matches have ended in draws.
