THE SERIES
Since the Tornado joined Conference Carolinas, the Fleet lead the all-time series 11-7. Erskine earned its first win in Bristol since the 2016 campaign.

THE MATCH
Set 1: The Fleet came out hitting sharp as they collected kills on seven of their first nine points. King never led in the opening set, as the difference came when the Fleet used a 4-0 run to jump ahead 21-15. Back to back service errors, one from each team, finished off set as the Fleet won 25-19.

Set 2: The second set was the quickest of the afternoon as the Fleet promptly won 25-12. Cole Vigo collected three kills and a service ace to help push the Fleet to victory and gain control of the match with the two-set advantage.

Set 3: Facing an uphill battle, the Tornado rallied back in set three to extend the match. Set three favored King, 25-16 after an extended 10-1 run by the Tornado gave the hosts a 22-11 lead.

Set 4: King forced a decisive fifth set by winning the first three points of set four. They never looked from the early advantage although the Fleet tied the set at 5-5. Late in the fourth, the Fleet had their chance to close off the Tornado after they got back on serve with a Cole Vigo kill at 21-20. King held on for four of the last five points in the set, however, to win 25-21.

Set 5: The Fleet found their game in the fifth set after dropping four of the first six points. After the set was tied at 7-7, the Fleet took their final lead of the day when Kacper Rybarczyk came on for the kill. The Fleet won the final set 15-12.
