CENTRAL, S.C. – The Erskine College women's soccer team (1-2-1, 1-2-1 CC) lost 1-0 to Southern Wesleyan University (1-3, 1-2 CC) at Childs Field on Sunday.

THE SERIES
The ninth all-time meeting favored Southern Wesleyan who holds a 6-2-1 advantage versus Erskine. The Fleet have secured just three points versus Warriors in the last five matches.

THE MATCH
Although the Fleet held much of the possession in the opening 45 minutes, they were not rewarded with a goal. In fact, the first half was highlighted by just a single strike. The Warriors' captain, Joy Namyst, provided the difference in the match as she scored the game winning goal. Namyst went top shelf to strike first for Southern Wesleyan at 11:35. Namyst's goal was unassisted. At halftime, the Fleet held the possession advantage and outshot the Warriors 10-2. The second saw much of the same for Erskine. Although SWU managed to regain some of the lost possession, the Warriors held on for 1-0 result at home.

THE TEAM
The Fleet collected 20 shots, with eight finding their way on target. Keeper
Cheyenne Fuller played all 90 minutes in net and made five saves.

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Fleet return to Huggins Field for a match against North Greenville University (3-0, 3-0 CC) on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

The match on Sunday will break a 6-6 tie in the all-time series. The Crusaders have won the previous three contests.
