THE SERIES
Erskine picks up its 40th all-time win over Anderson with the split this afternoon. The Fleet lead the series 40-19 with their local rivals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1: The Trojans jumped on Erskine starter
Allan Saathoff (2-1) in the first as a double and then a triple set up a sacrifice fly to give Anderson a 2-0 lead. Another sacrifice fly in the third gave Anderson a 3-0 lead, one they would hold until the sixth inning.
Livan Reinoso led off the inning with a single and then a
Drew Yniesta home run to left centerfield made it a 2-1 game. Then, on the very next at-bat,
Dayan Reinoso tied the game at 3-3 with a solo shot to left center.
Dayan Reinoso would go on to bring in the game winning run in the seventh inning with a single to center field.
Toshawn Drew (1) came on for his first save of the season pitching the final two innings in relief of Saathoff.
Â
GAME 2:Â The Trojans once again scored first, but in game two they waited until the third inning to do so. The leadoff batter in the third reached via a hit-by-pitch and later scored off a bases loaded ground out. A two-run single up the middle opened the lead to 3-0. Anderson added one more in the fourth with another RBI single to give the hosts a 4-0 advantage. The Fleet got one run back in the fifth after
Tariq Bacon was brought in by a
Livan Reinoso single. With two outs in the seventh, the Fleet scored their final run. Back-to-back doubles from
Cody Forster and
Livan Reinoso cut the deficit to 4-2, but the Fleet were retired in order in the final two innings.
THE PLAYER
GAME 1: Dayan Reinoso was 2-for-4 from the plate with two RBIs, a run scored and a walk.
GAME 2:
