Erskine Football | Benji Greeson and Bobby Hamby of WZLA Announced as "Voice of the Fleet"

DUE WEST, S.C. – The highly anticipated return of Erskine College football took one step closer to reality on Wednesday as director of athletics, Mark Peeler, named local radio personalities Benji Greeson and Bobby Hamby the new voice of the Flying Fleet football program.

Greeson, along with his color analyst Hamby, have signed on to call every snap of the four spring season home games live on WZLA (92.9 FM).

"When I got the call from Mark Peeler, it was a dream come true," Greeson said. "I've always loved football and loved the college game especially. I feel blessed to be part of this Erskine program and really the reintroduction of Erskine College football."

The audio from the radio broadcast will supplement the live stream for all of Erskine's four home football games played at nearby J.W. Babb Stadium in Greenwood, South Carolina this spring.

"This is history in the making and to be a part of it is pretty phenomenal," Hamby said. "I'm excited for the town of Due West, for coach Boyd, the team and all people involved with the program. It's not every day you get this type of opportunity. I cannot wait."

The Fleet Countdown Pregame Show will air 15 minutes prior to every game. Fans can listen online at www.erskinesports.com or tune in to WZLA–92.9 FM.

"I'm just super excited to step into the college game," Greeson said. "I've done college basketball before, but football is different and I'm definitely excited for a full-time gig."
