DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College men's basketball team (1-9, 1-6 CC) faced off against Conference Carolinas foe, Southern Wesleyan University (5-4, 3-2 CC). The Fleet got off to a hot start in the first half, leading by as many as 8 points early. However, the Warriors of SWU did not fold, and brought the game back, taking the lead by 2 before the end of the half. To open the second half, both teams traded buckets, but after the SWU guards got hot from behind the arc, the Warriors took the lead and finished out the game strong, eventually downing the Fleet 69-65.
THE TEAM
Erskine shot 23-62 (37.1%) from the floor and was 6-19 (31.6%) from beyond the arc. The Fleet shot 13-20 (65.0%) from the foul line in the game.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Fleet will take the rest of December off and will pick back up on the road at Carson-Newman on January 1st.
