Box Score JEFFERSON CITY, T.N. – The Erskine College men's basketball team (1-10, 1-6 CC) faced off against last year's Southern Athletic Conference Champions, Carson Newman on New Years Day. With both teams coming in off a loss in their last game of 2021. Both teams came out of the gates, seemingly with no rust from Christmas break, each keeping pace with the other. The Fleet entered the half down by 6 points 31-37. In the second half, the game stayed close, but the Fleet were not able to overcome the Carson Newman lead. Erskine eventually fell, 62-72.

Emandi Brooks led the Fleet with 15 points on 5-8 shooting from three-point range.
THE TEAM
Erskine shot 25-64 (39.1%) from the floor and was 7-20 (35.0%) from beyond the arc. The Fleet shot 5-12 (41.7%) from the foul line in the game.

The Fleet will start 2022's Conference Carolinas schedule with a matchup versus Barton College on the road this Tuesday, January 4th at 7:00 PM.
