GREENWOOD, S.C. – The Fleet women's tennis team competed in the Bearcat Invitational this weekend at Lander University. The tournament format placed doubles teams in the draw together, meaning that each round, each doubles team would play 1 doubles match and 2 singles matches. The team that won 2 of the 3 matches advanced on the winners' side of the draw. All teams continued to play win or lose. The Erskine doubles team of Emma Bentz and Szilvi Ferenczy won the tournament championship. 14 doubles teams from Lander, Limestone, Young Harris, and Erskine played the tournament.

Emma Bentz and Szilvi Ferenczy

1. 1st Round received a bye since they were the number 2 seed
2. Quarters defeated Mallath/Gomez(Young Harris) 6-1 in doubles, Bentz defeated Mallath 7-6(7-0) 6-3, Ferenczy defeated Gomez 6-3,6-4, Erskine wins 3-0
3. Semis defeated Acco/Adair(Lander) 6-3 in doubles, Bentz defeated Acco 6-2,6-0, Ferenczy defeated Adair 6-3,4-6, 1-0(13-11), Erskine wins 3-0
4. Finals defeated Gerbino/Armani(Lander) 7-5 in doubles, Bentz defeated Gerbino 6-1,6-4, Ferenczy lost to Amrani 6-0,6-4, Erskine wins 2-1

Luize Valtere and Angelina Jacobs

1. 1st Round defeated Dong/Wilson(Young Harris) 6-0 in doubles, Valtere lost to Dong 6-2,6-1, Jacobs defeated Wilson 6-1,6-1, Erskine wins 2-1
2. Quarters defeated Kiszner/Khraipko(Limestone) 7-6(8-6) in doubles, Valtere lost to Kiszner 7-5,6-2, Jacobs lost to Khraipko 6-2,6-3, Limestone wins 2-1
