DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College women's soccer team (0-12, 0-10 CC) was defeated by Chowan University (4-9-1, 4-6-1 CC) by a score of 5-0 at Huggins Field on Saturday.

THE SERIES
Chowan now leads the all-time 4-0-1 in a series that began in just 2017.

THE MATCH
Chowan wasted no time jumping out to an early lead as an Erskine own goal put the Hawks up 1-0 in the 12th minute, and moments later, Christina Flores doubled the visitors lead. Erskine managed just one shot on target in the first half, as they trailed 2-0 heading into the break. Carolina Lucci scored in the 57th and found the back of the net again in the 72nd minute to extend the Hawks' lead to 4-0. Michelle Maksimovic got on the score sheet minutes later to finish off a 5-0 win for Chowan as the Fleet attack struggled to create chances.

THE TEAM
Chowan outshot Erskine 10 to three and had an eight to two advantage in shots on target.
 
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Fleet continue conference play on the road at North Greenville University (9-3-4, 8-1-2 CC) on Tuesday evening at 5:00 p.m. North Greenville holds a 7-5-1 lead in the all-time series and the Fleet are winless in their last five meetings with the Crusaders.
