BELMONT, N.C. – The Erskine College women's soccer team (0-7, 0-5 CC) continued Conference Carolinas play with a 4-0 road loss to Belmont Abbey College (2-5-1, 2-2-1 CC) on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field. The Crusaders scored a pair of goals in each half.

Belmont Abbey is now 14-1 all-time against the Fleet, with Erskine's only win coming in 2009.
THE MATCH
The Erskine attack managed just one shot in the opening 45 minutes as the hosts controlled the match. Belmont Abbey took the lead in the 16th minute on a goal from Cassidy Calhoun. Goose Andrews scored for the Crusaders on either side of the half, before Grace Siders scored their fourth and final goal of the match in what was a more even second half between the teams.
Kaylie Hayes made a pair of saves in goal for the Fleet.

Belmont Abbey outshot Erskine 11 to four and had a six to two advantage in shots on target.

The Fleet continue their fall 2021 campaign with a non-conference affair at home against Bob Jones University (11-1) on Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at Huggins Field. The Fleet won the only previous meeting between the teams, with a 2-1 road victory back in 2019 thanks to a 90th-minute winner from
Katie Cauble.
