DUE WEST, S.C. – Erskine Director of Athletics Mark Peeler hired Ben Auten as the new Assistant Sports Information Director on Tuesday.
 
Auten graduated from Texas Christian University in December 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Broadcasting and will work with the new Associate Athletic Director for Operations and External Relations Drew Wallace as well as the new Sports Information Director Andrew Preston.
 
While at TCU, Auten helped with the radio broadcasts for baseball and basketball in addition to being involved with the student newspaper for the university. Originally from Charleston, S.C., he has spent the previous two summers as a gameday intern for teams in collegiate wood bat leagues in the Carolinas.
 
"I look forward to working with Drew [Wallace] and Andrew [Preston] in the sports information department here at Erskine, especially with football scheduled to return this year," Auten said. "It's a very exciting time in Due West and I am thrilled to be a part of it."
 
Auten will help in the sports information department for the nineteen Fleet sports including football as Erskine football will compete for the first time since the early 1950s. The Fleet begin their season against Catawba College on September at Greenwood High School.
