DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine Athletics Department held its 4th Annual Flying Fleet "Hour-A-Thon" on August 27th. Student-athletes from all 24 Erskine sports took part in an athletic fundraiser led by "Hour-A-Thon's" Michael Braunstein. All proceeds raised from the event were provided to the individual sports teams' budgets.
In 2024, Fleet Athletics raised $118,000 from the "Hour-A-Thon." Director of AthleticsÂ
Mark Peeler set this year's goal at $140,000 and Erskine reached $157,680 which far surpassed the goal and shatters the school's previous record by nearly $40,000. Erskine received donations from 1,758 donors throughout this year's Hour-A-Thon. The extra fundraising will allow Erskine's teams to supply its student-athletes with more gear and improved team travel during the 2025-26 year.
"The cost of running intercollegiate athletics is increasing at a rapid rate so the Hour-A-Thon provides us an opportunity to supplement those rising costs and helps us to improve the experience of Erskine Athletics for all," Peeler said. "I am extremely grateful to our student-athletes for their work on this and for every single friend and family member of the program who donated to the Hour-A-Thon. We are blessed to have such tremendous support to help us keep the Fleet Flying!"
