Box Score Anderson University took down the Fleet baseball team in Wednesday afternoon's rivalry matchup in Anderson, SC. The Trojans won the game 7-4.
The score remained 0-0 through the first two innings until Anderson came to life in the bottom of the third scoring three of their seven runs. The Fleet fired back, earning one run in the top of the third on a home run from
Livan Reinoso which cut the Trojan lead to two. The Fleet were next to score, tallying three runs in the top of the seventh.
Cal Bochino was able to bring in Carter with a sacrifice fly and Vizzcorando followed with a double down the line to bring in both Clark and Fisher. The Fleet held the 4-3 lead through the bottom of the seventh, but gave it up in the bottom of the eighth after failing to earn any runs of their own. Four runs for Anderson in the bottom of the eighth proved to be the last runs of the game, giving the Trojans the 7-4 victory.
Xander Vizzcorando led the Fleet going 3-3 on the day with 2 RBIs.
Kane Fisher also contributed going 2-4 and scoring a run.
The Fleet will be back at Grier Field on February 14 for a double header against Clarion University.
