THE SERIES
The two squads met for the official first time in school history last season. The Fleet came out victorious when Katie Cauble pushed Erskine in front with just 27 seconds remaining to give Erskine a 2-1 win.

THE MATCH
The Fleet attack wasted little time making their presence known as they found the back of the net in the opening five minutes. Grace Attaway scored the first of her two goals at the 3:32, to push Erskine ahead 1-0. Attaway's strike was assisted by Jane Ashley Meredith. Nearly 20 minutes later, Katie Cauble beat the Bruins keeper to give the Fleet a 2-0 advantage. Cauble's goal, the first of the day, was assisted by Devyn Cabral. Erskine led in shots 8-2 at halftime. In the second half, the Fleet beat Bob Jones keeper once again. Katie Cauble's second goal of the match was an unassisted goal which came at 49:49 and finished the Fleet's scoring. Erskine goalkeeper Cheyenne Fuller started the entire match in goal and maintained a clean sheet for the match. Fuller made on save.

WHAT THE RESULT MEANS
Erskine begins the 2020-21 campaign with a victory and officially jump starts its fall slate of competition.

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Fleet take the pitch in two weeks' time when they travel to Winston-Salem, NC to face Carolina University for the NCCAA South Regional Championship match on Nov. 7.

The fixture will serve as a rematch from last season's NCCAA South Regional opener in which Erskine handed Carolina University a 7-1 defeat.

That meeting was the only time the two squads have met in program history with Erskine earning the 1-0 edge all-time.

Kick-off time has yet to be determined.
