DUE WEST- Senior Jaywaun Washington scored a career high 26 points on 9-12 shooting and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Erskine to a 108-100 non-conference win over Bob Jones (10-10) on Thursday night at Belk Arena. Senior Jordan Watson and junior Malcolm Green each scored 20 points and freshman Emandi Brooks added 19 for the Fleet as they snapped a six-game losing streak.
Erskine (6-13, 3-10) shot a season high 62% from the floor in the win. Erskine started fast jumping to a 7-0 lead and pushed the lead to 17 points (29-12) midway through the opening stanza. Bob Jones rallied to cut the lead to 45-41 at the half. The Bruins started quickly in teh second half, jumping to a 60-53 lead before Washington and Watson led an Erskine rally. The Fleet built the lead to as many 15 before the Bruins rallied again to cut the lead to 106-100 with 21 seconds remaining.
