Holland Receives Erskine College's Ruble Award

Assistant AD Recipient of College's Top Staff Award

DUE WEST-     Thomas Holland, Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations and Recruiting, was awarded Erskine College's Ruble Award on Tuesday afternoon by Provost Dr. Thomas Hellams. The Ruble Staff Award, named after former president Dr. Randy Ruble, is given each spring to the outstanding staff member at Erskine during the 2018-19 academic year. Holland becomes the first Flying Fleet staff member to win the award. In 2017 Holland received the Gid Alston Award, given by the athletic department to the staff member making teh greatest contributions to Flying Fleet Athletics. Holland has been on the Erskine athletics staff for nineteen years, serving as an assistant baseball coach and sports information director for much of that time before being promoted in 2017 to assistant athletic director.

"There are not enough good things I can say about Thomas Holland's contributions to Erskine. He is a tireless, loyal, and dedicated team member who has faithfully served this college and Flying Fleet Athletics. The Ruble Award is a much deserved recognition for someone who has given so much to his alma mater. I am pleased that his contributions are noticed outside of our department because the impact he has had on this entire college is immeasurable," commented Director of Athletics Mark Peeler.
