Women's Tennis Adds Four in Early Signing Period

Due West, SC - Erskine women's tennis coach Calhoun Parr announces the signing of 4 players during the early signing period. They are Faith Wright, Madison Conwell, Hannah Clayton, and Jordan Phelps.
 
This is the largest early signing class in the history of the Erskine women's tennis program. Coach Parr states that he feels that these players are all a great fit for the Erskine experience. "All of these players are strong in their faith, excel in the classroom, and are passionate about the sport of tennis, stated Coach Parr. "I am very excited to see how God uses the next 4 years at Erskine to prepare them for his plans for their lives!"

Faith Wright is from Columbia, Missouri. She is a student athlete at Rock Bridge High School. Faith is involved with her church and works in customer service at a local French restaurant. On the tennis court, Faith served as co-captain of her team her last 2 years. During her high school career, Rock Bridge High School completed the high school grand slam, winning four consecutive Missouri state championships while compiling a record of 94-3. Faith is currently ranked #1 in the state of Missouri. Tennis Recruiting has Faith ranked as a 3-Star player.
 
Faith has dedicated herself to being a good student, teammate, and friend. She has spent countless hours on the tennis courts practicing and improving her game, offered tennis lessons to neighborhood children to encourage their participation in the sport, and learned the art of time management, balancing schooling with her desire to be well rounded in and out of the classroom. 
 
Her high school coach paid her the ultimate compliment stating that while she was an excellent tennis player, Faith is respectful and respected by the coaches and her teammates for the young women she has grown to become.

Madison Conwell is from West Columbia, South Carolina. She is a student-athlete at Brookland-Cayce High School. Madison joined the varsity tennis program in the seventh grade earned the #1 seed, and has kept it each year. As a member of the tennis team at Brookland-Cayce, she has received a variety of awards including having made the ALL-Region team each year as well as the team's MVP. Madison has earned Region 5-AAAmPlayer of the Year. This year Madison was named to the ALL-State team. Her overall record in high school is 80-9 with a 30-6 region record. 
 
Off the court, Madison has over a 3.0 GPA as a student in Brookland-Cayce's i2Tech program. She served as a member of the homecoming and prom committees. Additionally, Madison attends college courses at Midlands College program at Airport High School.

Hannah Clayton is from Ocilla, Georgia. She is a student-athlete at Irwin County High School. On the tennis courts for the Indians, Hannah's career record playing number 1 singles is 61-0. The Indians have been Area 2A Champions for each of Hannah's three tennis seasons, earning her 1st Team All Area for 3 consecutive years. Hannah has helped lead the Indians to GHSA Single A State Championships in 2015, 2016 and Final Four appearance in 2017. Hannah will play her senior season for Irwin County School in the spring. 
 
An honor student attending Irwin County High School, Hannah competes for the Indians in a variety of extra-curricular activities. Hannah's list of accomplishments off the court includes; State Runner-up Literary Girls Trio; 4-Time Region Champions One Act Play; State Runner-up One-Act-Play; and Competition Cheerleading Top 5 Georgia High School Association Single A Public.

Jordan Phelps is from Cumming, Georgia. She is a student-athlete at Kings Ridge Christian High School. Jordan trains under the instruction of Jerry Baskin. Jerry is a very respected coach who has developed world class players. Jordan played number 1 singles on the women's varsity team that previously won the sub-region championship in Georgia Class 1A Private. Jordan has a USTA Georgia ranking in the top 50. She is a previous three year qualifier for the Georgia State Championships and has represented Team Georgia for the past 3 years at the USTA Southern Nationals. 
 
Jordan is an "A" student, a member of the National Senior Beta Club, and has earned a spot on the Academic Headmasters List and the Academic Honor Role. Jordan serves as a worship leader in the h9igh school praise band. Jordan and her family attend North Point Community Church.
