Franklin Springs, GA – The Flying Fleet exploded for 11 runs in the first three innings and held on for a 12-2 victory over Emmanuel College Friday evening in Conference Carolinas action.
Erskine would send nine batters to the plate in the first inning and score five runs. The Fleet would get two run singles by
Kyle Heiss and
Tanner Lollis and a RBI double by
Tyler Phillips in the inning. The Fleet would add three run in the second and third to make it an 11-0 game. Emmanuel would score two runs in the bottom of the third, but that would be all they would get.
Chaz Davey was 3-5 with three RBI's and
Chris Rave was 2-4 with two RBI's to lead the Fleet. Heiss finished the game 2-4 with three runs driven in and
Sam Cothran and
Chase Watts added two hits each in the victory.
Alex Calvert (&-1) picked up the win allowing two runs on five hits and striking out nine in six innings of work.
Isaac Rodgers (1) picked up the save allowing just two hits in three innings of work.
