Burlington, NC – The Flying Fleet lost their opening round game 4-1 to Pfeiffer on Friday, but rebounded to defeat North Greenville 14-4 in an elimination game to remain alive in the Conference Carolinas baseball tournament.
Game One
Chaz Davey was 1-4 with a double, and
Chris Rave and
Destin Nichols each added a hit for the Fleet offense.
Tanner Lollis drove in the lone run for Erskine.
Alex Calvert (8-2) took the loss allowing four runs on nine hits and striking out four in 4.1 innings of work.
Game Two
Henry Faunce was 4-5 with a double and two runs scored and Rave was 3-5 with a double and four RBI's to lead the Fleet.
Chase Watts was 3-5 with a double and two RBI's, while Nichols was 2-5 with a home run and two runs driven in.
Zack Bowers (8-1) picked up the win allowing two runs on three hits and striking out seven in six innings of work.
