Gaffney, SC-- Senior
Miranda Guthrie and freshman
Paola Gullino picked up wins at #1 and #2 singles respectively to lead Erskine to a 6-3 road win at Limestone. The win avenged last season's regular season loss that gave the Saints the regular season title. Erskine improved to 7-2 with the win and 6-0 in Conference Carolinas play. Erskine jumped to a 2-1 lead after doubles play. Gullino teamed with
Sarah McDonald to win 8-3 at #1 doubles. Guthrie and teammate
Mikaela Bennett battled for an 8-6 win at #2 doubles.
Guthrie wasted little time in singles dispatching Limestone's #1 player Manon Janin in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. Gullino followed with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over the Saints #2 Alexandra Boulbin. Bennett secured the Fleet's decisive 5th point with a 6-3, 6-4 win at #4 singles. Freshman
Rachel Berkey picked up the Fleet's final point at #6 singles, winning 6-2, 6-3.Â
