Mount Olive, NC – Alex Calvert threw his fourth complete game of the season and his first career shut out to lead Erskine to a 1-0 win over Mount Olive to win the Conference Carolinas series.

The game would be scoreless through the first four innings as neither team could get any offense going.  In the top of the fifth Chaz Davey would lead off with a single to right and Destin Nichols would lay down a sacrifice bunt to move Davey into scoring position.  Tyler Phillips would then double down the left field line to score Davey and give Erskine the lead.  That would be all Calvert (5-1) would need as he would scatter five hits and strike out eight to secure the win.

Chris Rave was the lone Erskine player with multiple hits, going 2-4 with a double, while Henry Faunce also added a double.
