DUE WEST- The USC-Aiken softball team scored 17 unanswered runs in the day's first twelve innings to sweep a doubleheader from Erskine Tuesday afternoon. The Pacers shut the Fleet out in Game One with a decisive 9-0 victory. In Game Two, USC-Aiken led 8-0 after four innings before winning, 9-3. The Fleet's only runs of the afternoon came in the bottom of the 5th inning of Game Two.
Jill Sprague and
Brittany Rhinehardt led off the inning with singles. Sprague scored the Fleet's first run on an RBI single from freshman
Reagan Davis. Sophomore
Brittany Reynolds then drove in both Rhinehardt and Davis with a line drive in the gap. The losses dropped Erskine to 18-10 on the season. The Fleet remain in 1st place in Conference Carolinas with an unblemished 8-0 mark.
