DUE WEST - The Fleet held a 9-5 advantage after 7 innings, but a 7 run inning from the Trojans in the 8th would prove too much to overcome as Erskine fell 12-9 to the rival Trojans of Anderson University. 

After falling behind early 4-1, the Fleet's Tyler Phillips belted a 2 run home run in the bottom of the 4th to tighten the score at 4-3.  The Trojans added another run in the top of the 5th, but the Fleet would jump ahead with 3 run innings in the 6th and 7th.  In the 6th, Phillips would strike again with an RBI single before Kyle Heiss singled in 2 more runs.  In the inning, the Fleet scored 3 runs, had 4 hits, and were assisted by 2 Trojan errors.  In the 7th, the Fleet would get RBIs from Sam Cothran, Chaz Davey, and Gunner Sellers to build their lead to 9-5.   Anderson would answer in the top of the 8th with a 7 run inning capped by a grand slam with one out.   The last threat from the Fleet would come in the bottom of the 8th with runners on 2nd and 3rd with two outs, but they were unable to push across any runs.  

Erskine's record still stands at 23-9 on the year.  The Fleet travel to Mt. Olive for a pivotal Conference Carolinas series this Friday and Saturday, March 25th and 26th.
