Due West, SC – King scored five runs in the top of the ninth to erase a two run deficit and held on for a 16-13 victory over Erskine in the opening game of a Conference Carolinas series.
Trailing 5-3 in the fourth, The Fleet would score three runs to take the lead. The big blow of the inning coming off a two run home run by
Chris Rave. The game would go back and forth the rest of the game with each team regaining the lead. Erskine would take a 13-11 lead into the ninth, but the Tornado would score five runs to take the victory.
Rave was 4-5 with a home run, two RBI's and four runs scored to lead the Fleet.
Chaz Davey was 4-6 with a double and two runs cored, while
Henry Faunce was 3-6.
Joe Johnson (4-3) took the loss allowing six runs non seven hits in two and two-thirds innings of work.
