Due West, SC – The Erskine College Flying Fleet defeated the Lions of Emmanuel College in dramatic fashion tonight 68-67! This is the 4
th win in a row for the Fleet as they now move to 10-9 overall and 7-6 in Conference Carolinas action.
The Fleet raced out to a 12-5 lead at the under 16 timeout. Erskine held the lead the whole half and kept their foot on the gas. The advantage was Erskine's at the half, with the Fleet leading 42-34. Percentage wise, both teams were pretty even from the field in the first half. Erskine shot an impressive 55.6%, while Emmanuel shot 46.7% from the field. Emmanuel took 3 more shots than the Fleet, but the difference in the game was the six 3-pointers for
Mark Peeler's squad.
Brannon Dark was 5-6 from the field and boasted 13 points in the first half.
Joby Glymph also pitched in 9 points and 5 rebounds. Sophomore
Blake Maness was an impressive 3-3 from 3-point land in 19 first-half minutes of action for the Fleet.
Emmanuel controlled the open part of the second half. At the under 12 media timeout the game was all tied at 46. The crowd really got into the game when Erskine started to take charge. From then on, both teams traded baskets until around the 2:30 mark.
Joby Glymph hit 2 free-throws that put the Fleet lead to 5. Emmanuel scored a couple baskets and ended up with a one-point lead with 12.9 seconds remaining. The Fleet inbounded the ball and

Ray Lock. Lock was fouled and sank both free throws. Emmanuel inbounded the ball and got down the court but their game winning floater caught back rim and

Erskine returns to action Tuesday when they host Southern Wesleyan University. Game time is set for 7:30.
