Box Score 2 Gaffney, SC – The Flying Fleet shut out Limestone twice to complete a three game sweep of the Conference Carolinas three game series Saturday.
Game OneNeither team could get any offense for the first four innings, but in the top of the fifth,
Tanner Lollis would lead off with a single up the middle.
Chris Moody would pinch run for Lollis and later score on a single up the middle by
Sam Cothran to give Erskine the lead. The Fleet would add two more runs in the top of the seventh on RBI singles from Cothran and
Henry Faunce and take the 3-0 victory.
Cothran was 2-4 with two RBI's to lead Erskine at the plate, while Faunce and Lollis had the other two Erskine hits.
Landon Dickerson (1-1) picked up the win allowing just one hit in 1.2 innings of relief work while
Josh Alley (1) picked up his first career save in two innings of work.
Game TwoErskine would take a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on a solo home run by Cothran. They would add three more runs over the next two innings to make it a 4-0 game. The Saints would not be able to get any offense going, and Erskine would explode for four runs in the ninth to blow the game wide open.
Cothran was 2-5 with a home run and three RBI's, while Faunce was 2-4 with a home run and two runs scored to lead the Fleet. CHaz Davey also added three hits and
Chase Watts had two hits in the victory.
Zack Bowers (3-1) dominated the Saints, striking out twelve and scattering seven hits in a complete game performance.
