Due West – The Erskine College Flying Fleet were handed a home loss 85-76 at the hands of the North Greenville Crusaders. This loss drops the Fleet to 6-9 on the season and 3-6 in Conference Carolinas play.
The first half for the Fleet was highlighted by
Joby Glymph's 11 points and 3 rebounds and
Ray Lock's 10 points and 4 rebounds. The Fleet out-rebounded the Crusaders 24-23 and put up a fight in the half court. The Erskine defense was tested early as North Greenville came to play from three-point land. The Crusaders scored 47 points off of 50% shooting and tossed in 9 threes to really stretch the Fleet defense.
The second half was a little more of the same offensively for North Greenville. The Crusaders made four more 3 point baskets and equaled their 50% shooting mark from the first half. The Fleet were led by
Ray Lock's 11 points in the second half and
Nelson Spence's 16 for the game.
Brannon Dark led the team with 9 rebounds, and
Justin Shelton pitched in 8 rebounds.
The Fleet look to rebound this Saturday as they take on the Saints of Limestone College. Game time is set for 7:30 P.M in Gaffney, SC.
