GREENWOOD, SC- Lander scored two first half goals to push the Bearcats past the Erskine Women's Soccer Team, 2-0, in the opener for both teams on Thursday night.The loss spoiled the debut of first-year head coach Robin Smith but Smith had plenty of positives to take away from the match. Lander dominated the statistics by out-shooting Erskine, 26-3. Erskine senior goalie Ashton Burgess played well as she was credited with 8 saves in the contest. Erskine plays Saturday on the road against Columbia College.The Fleet play their home opener on Wednesday against Beville Cup rival Anderson University at  5 pm on the Huggins Field pitch.
