Jennifer Deppen scored Erskine's first two goals of the season on Saturday but it wasn't enough to hold off Columbia College in women's soccer action, 5-2. After Columbia went up 2-0 Deppen scored the first Fleet goal of the year at the 44;14 mark on a header on a cross from fellow senior
Jamie Morris to put the halftime score at 2-1. Following another Columbia goal, Deppen scored unassisted at 78:23 to make the score 3-2. Columbia put the game away in the last seven minutes of the contest scoring twice. Erskine falls to 0-2 on the young season. The Fleet will tangle with Beville Cup rival Anderson University on Wednesday at 5 pm in their home opener at Huggins Field.
