Due West, SC – Sam Cothran and Zach Smith hit back to back home runs in the bottom of the ninth to give Erskine a 7-6 victory over Wingate in non conference baseball action Friday afternoon.

Trailing 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Joey Wilson would hit a solo home run to cut the deficit to two.  In the bottom of the fifth, Cothran and Smith would lead off with back to back singles.  And Richard Dix would blast a home run to right field to give Erskine the 4-3 lead.  The Fleet would add a run in the seventh to take two run lead into the eighth.  The Bulldogs would score three runs in the eighth to regain the lead 6-5, but Cothran and Smith would give Erskine the win with their home runs in the ninth.

Wilson was 3-3 with a double home run and one RBI, while Smith was 3-5 with a home run and two runs driven in.  JR Black (1-0) picked up the win with one scoreless inning of relief.
