Box Score Newberry, SC – Newberry College scored two runs in the bottom of the third to break a scoreless tie and held on for a 3-1 victory over Erskine College Tuesday evening.
 
The Wolves would get a leadoff home run from Jeff Sneed in the third and Jacob Bass would score on a single by Nolan Schrenker to take a 2-0 lead.  Newberry would add an unearned run in the fifth to increase their lead to three.  Erskine would get on the board in the top of the sixth when Houston Ison would lead off the inning with his first home run of the season.  That would be all the Fleet would get and Newberry would take the win.

Zach Smith was 2-4 to lead the Fleet at the plate, while Ison added his home run and RBI.  Richard Dix came off the bench and had a hit for Erskine.  Zack Bowers (0-1) took the loss allowing two runs on four hits in three innings of work.
