Clemson, S.C. – The Erskine Flying Fleet (5-3, 5-0) ran their win streak to four matches with a 9 to 0 victory over the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan University (1-4, 1-1) this afternoon in Conference Carolinas women's tennis action at Nettles Park.
In the three doubles matches, Erskine lost just one game.
Mika Goyette (Montreal, Quebec, Ecole Secondaire De Mortague) and
Mikaela Bennett (Calgary, Canada, National Sports HIgh School) won 8 to 1 over Samantha Powell and Elizabeth Mulkey while
Sarah McDonald (Round O, SC, Colleton Preparatory Academy) and
Miranda Guthrie (Suwanee, GA, Home-schooled) shutout their foes 8-0. Erskine picked up the last doubles match by default.
Erskine won all the singles matches as well. The Fleet won the top four positions in straight sets and the last two spots by default. Both Guthrie and Bennett won without surrendering a game.
Erskine will seek to extend their win streak on Tuesday against the visiting Jaguars of Georgia Regents University on Tuesday. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
