Tigerville, S.C. – With today's 8 to 1 win over North Greenville University, the Erskine Flying Fleet (4-3, 4-0) have now won three straight matches.
Erskine raced out to an early 3-0 lead by sweeping the doubles matches.
Sarah McDonald (Round O, SC, Colleton Preparatory Academy) and
Miranda Guthrie (Suwanee, GA, Home-schooled) won their #2 doubles match 8 to 1 and
Mollie Polk (Round O, SC, Pinewood Preparatory School) and
Haley Elliott (Simpsonville, SC, Mauldin High School) cruised at #3 doubles 8 to 2.
The Fleet won the five of the six singles, including four matches in straight sets.
Rebecca Weaver (Lake City, SC, The Carolina Academy) swept her opponent 6-0, 6-0 while Polk triumphed 6-1 and 6-0. McDonald needed a third set to win her match, winning the tie-breaker 10 to 5.
Erskine returns to the court tomorrow, playing at Southern Wesleyan University. The match starts at 1:00 p.m.
