Box Score Due West, SC – Lander scored six runs in the final three innings to take an 11-8 victory over #3 Erskine Tuesday afternoon in non conference baseball action.

In the top of the first, Brandon Overstreet (Stuart, FL, Herkimer CC) and Joey Wilson (Charleston, SC, USC Sumter) would lead off with singles to put runners at first and third.  Overstreet would then score when Zach Smith (Lexington, SC, Univ. of South Carolina) grounded into a double play to give Erskine (25-3) the lead.  The Fleet would add two more runs in the second on a two run single by Tanner Lollis (Williamston, SC, Palmetto HS) and a two run double by Overstreet.  Lander (13-15) would answer in the top of the third with four runs of their own, the big blow being a two run home run by Thomas Berry.  The score would remain 5-4 until the bottom of the fifth; Overstreet would lead off with a walk and advance to second on a wild pitch.  He would then score on a single to right field by Wilson to make it a two run game.  In the top of the sixth, Berry would double to left center and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Chris Hyatt to pull the Bearcats back to within one.  After the Fleet scored two in the bottom half of the inning to make it an 8-5 game, Lander would go on to score six unanswered runs over the final three innings to take the victory.

Berry led Lander at the plate going 3-4 with a home run, two doubles and three RBI's, while Taylor Kellner also added three hits.  Jay Robinson (1-0) picked up the win allowing one earned run on two hits in two innings of work.  Cameron Tekker (1) picked up the save pitching three scoreless innings of relief.

Overstreet was 3-4 with a double and two runs driven in, while Wilson was 2-5 with an RBI for the Fleet.  Terry Hall (0-1) took the loss allowing one run on one hit.
