Box Score Due West, SC – The Flying Fleet opened up the 2015 season with a 10-0 victory over Benedict College Tuesday afternoon.

In the bottom of the first, Andrew Kozak (Sidney, NY, Hudson Valley CC) would lead off with a single and then later score on a sacrifice fly by Logan Galliher (Taylorsville, NC, Alexander Central HS) to give Erskine a 1-0 lead.  Erskine would add two more runs in the fourth to push their lead to three.  In the fifth, the Fleet would score three more runs to make it a 6-0 game. Brandon Overstreet (Stuart, FL, Herkimer CC) and Zach Smith (Lexington, SC, White Knoll HS) would hit back to back doubles and Galliher would follow with a two run single.  He would then score on a double by Richard Dix (Clemson, SC, Daniel HS).  Erskine would add four more runs in the seventh with the big blow being a pinch hit three run home run by freshman Alex Garland (Marietta, GA, Hillgrove HS).

Galliher led the Fleet at the plate going a perfect 3-3 with three RBI's.  Kozak, Smith and Chase Watts (Rock Hill, SC, Rock Hill HS) each added two hits in the victory.  Kyle Foster (Greer, SC, Blue Ridge HS) (1-0) picked up the win allowing just three hits and striking out two in five shutout innings.

Erskine returns to action as they host Miles College in a three game series this weekend.
