Box Score 2 Due West, SC – Erskine College split a Conference Carolinas double header with Barton College Saturday afternoon. The Fleet won game one 4-2 and lost game two 6-1.
Game OneErskine would take the early lead in the bottom of the first.
Brandon Overstreet (Stuart, FL, Herkimer CC) would lead off the inning with a triple and then score on a wild pitch to make it a 1-0 game. Erskine would add two runs in the fourth.
Zach Smith (Lexington, SC, White Knoll HS) would lead off with a walk and advance to second on a single by
Destin Nichols (Tampa, FL, Berkley Prep). A single by

Tanner Lollis (Williamston, SC, Palmetto HS) would score Wooten to make it a three run game. A single run in the fifth by Erskine would make it a 4-0 game. The Bulldogs would cut the lead in half in the sixth when Ben Williams would get hit by a pitch and Avery Harper blasted a two run home run. That would be as close as they would get as the Fleet held on for the win.
Avery led Barton at the plate going 1-3 with two RBI's. Williams, Andrew Webster, and Tyler Garrett each had one hit apiece. Kyle Rufer (1-2) took the loss allowing four runs on seven hits in six innings of work.
Overstreet led the Erskine offense going 3-3 with a triple and two runs scores, while Wooten and Lollis each had a hit and RBI.
Luke Crumley (Cleveland, GA, University of Georgia) (3-0) picked up the win allowing two runs on three hits and striking out two in six innings of work.
Zach McAllister (Simpsonville, SC, Hillcrest HS) (2) picked up the save allowing one hit and striking out one.
Game TwoNeither team could get any offense going in the first four innings of game two. In the bottom of the fifth,
Sam Cothran (Williamston, SC, Palmetto HS) would single and advance to second on a ground out. After
Andrew Kozak (Sidney, NY, Hudson Valley CC) drew a two out walk, Overstreet would double to score Cothran and giver Erskine the lead. In the top of the seventh, the Bulldogs would score two runs to take the lead. The would add four more in the eighth to bust the game open.
Webster led Barton at the plate going 3-4 with a double and RBI, while Calvin Hawke had a triple and four runs batted in. Zach Breen (2-0) picked up the win allowing one run on five hits and striking out five.
Overstreet and Cothran each had two hits, while Nichols added one hit.
Landon Dickerson (Williamston, SC, Palmetto High School) took the loss allowing two runs, one earned in one-third of an inning of work.
