DUE WEST, SC - The Erskine Women's Volleyball team hosted the rival Trojans of Anderson University in non-conference action tonight in Belk Arena. Erskine would get contributions from several players, and power past the Trojans, 3-0. The match stretches the Fleet's winning streak to six games and they have won three consecutive matches in straight sets.
All of the sets tonight were closely contested. The largest margin of victory for Erskine in any set was three points. The Fleet won a back and forth 1st set 25-23 on the back of
Payton Duncan's 7 kills and
Kristen Dodge's 17 assists. The Trojans held a lead half way through the 2nd set when
Sami Harting came off the bench for the Fleet and provided a spark. She had 2 kills on only 3 opportunities in the set and Erskine won 25-22. The Fleet raced out to an early lead in the 3rd set and held on for a 25-23 win to take the match. Duncan provided 8 kills in the 3rd set and Harting again gave the Fleet a lift with 3 kills in only 6 opportunities.
Duncan again led the Fleet attack in the match with a game high 18 kills (.263 hitting %) and 3 service aces. Dodge provided the Fleet hitters with a game high 44 assists.
Sade Mendez (.500 hitting %),
Marissa Greenough (.312 hitting %), and
Kelly Sullivan (.292 hitting %) contributed 8 kills each. Mendez also had 11 digs. Harting had 5 critical kills in only 9 opportunities (.556 hitting %) in 2 sets.

Kristen Dodges commented that "besides stopping their outside hitters, our key tonight was to focus on us and being a better us".
The Fleet put there perfect record in Conference Carolinas on the line this Friday when they travel to North Greenville University. Game time is set for 7 pm.
