BRISTOL, TN - The Erskine Women's Volleyball team finished their Conference Carolinas road weekend by defeating the Tornado of King University, 3-0. The win improves the Fleet's record to 9-5 overall and a perfet 7-0 in conference play.
The Fleet were able to win in straight sets (25-21, 25-20, 25-21) despite only managing a .146 hitting percentage for the match. However, the Tornado could only manage a .088 hitting percentage and the Fleet forced them in to 24 attack errors.
Kelly Sullivan led the Fleet with an effecient 10 kills in 23 chances and 5 blocks while
Kendall Kirk contributed a game high 22 digs.
Coach Vahjen acknowledged that it was not her teams best game. "Though we didn't play our best, we gritted through it. The girls attitude and effort won us the 3 sets today", stated Vahjen.
The Fleet take a break from Conference Carolinas this Wednesday to face archrival Anderson Unversity at 7 pm in Belk Arena.
