BANNER ELK, NC - The Fleet traveled to the mountains to face the Bobcats of Lees-McRae College and rolled to a 3-0 victory. The win keeps Erskine perfect in Conference Carolinas (5-0) and improves their overall record to 8-5.
The Bobcats commited 24 errors and the Fleet held them to a -.011 hitting percentage in the win (25-18, 25-18, 25-16). The Fleet pulled away in the 2nd half of the 1st and 2nd sets before cruising out to a 17-7 lead in the 3rd set and finishing the match.
Kristen Dodge registered a double-double for the Fleet with 29 assists and 11 digs.
Payton Duncan and
Marissa Greenough led the Fleet attack with 11 and 10 kills respectively, while both compiling a hitting percentage over .300.
Kelly Sullivan also contributed 8 kills and 6 blocks.
Coach Vahjen commented on the game tonight stating that she was "impressed with the solid collective effort after a long day of travel".
The Fleet will continue their road trip with another Conference Carolinas match up against King College in Bristol, TN tomorrow afternoon at 2 pm.
