Sumter, S.C. – The #1 seed Erskine Flying Fleet advanced to the title match after beating #5 University of Mount Olive Trojans 5 to 0 this morning in the semi-final round of the Conference Carolinas Women's Tennis Championship Tournament held at the Palmetto Tennis Center.
Erskine squashed any ideas of an upset by trouncing Mount Olive in the three doubles matches.
Corin Hallman (Mt. Pleasant, SC, Wando High School) and
Mika Goyette (Brossard, Quebec, Ecole Secondaire De Mortague) led the charge, winning at #1 doubles 8 to 2.
Sarah McDonald (Cottageville, SC, Colleton Preparatory Academy) and
Haley Elliott (Simpsonville, SC, Mauldin High School)closed out the match by winning their singles matches by the same score of 6-1, 6-1. Erskine was leading in the other four matches when the match point was secured.
Erskine will play #2 Pfeiffer Sunday morning at 10 a.m. in the conference title match.
