Box Score Due West, SC – Erskine College defeated Brevard College 6-1 Tuesday afternoon in non conference baseball action.

Andrew Kozak (Sidney, NY, Hudson Valley CC) would lead off the bottom of the first with a walk and Brandon Overstreet (Stuart, FL, Herkimer CC) would follow with a double to put runners at second and third.  A ground out by Zach Smith (Lexington, SC, White Knoll HS) would score Kozak, and Logan Galliher (Taylorsville, NC, Alexander Central HS) would then double to score Overstreet to give Erskine (28-11) a 2-0 lead.  The Fleet would add another run in the third when Oversreet singled and later scored on Smith's second RBI groundout of the game.  Brevard (17-27) would get on the board in the top of the fourth when Matthew Proffitt led off with a double and scored on a single by Brock Helton.  Erskine would respond with a run in the bottom half when Tanner Lollis (Williamston, SC, Palmetto HS) singled to score Joey Wilson.  The Fleet would add two more runs in the eighth to take the victory.

Kozak, Overstreet, Corn and Joey Wilson (Charleston, SC, USC Sumter) each had two hits for the Fleet, while Smith and Wilson drove in two runs.  Chase Norman (3-1) picked up the win striking out two and not allowing a hit in 1.1 innings of relief.

The two teams will play again tomorrow as Erskine travels to Brevard for a 3:00 start.
