Box Score Due West, SC – Erskine College scored six runs in the first two innings and went on to a 9-3 victory over Anderson University Tuesday afternoon in non conference baseball action.

Erskine (10-1) would get on the board with two runs in the bottom of the first.  Andrew Kozak (Sidney, NY, Hudson Valley CC) would lead off with a double and then score when Zach Smith (Lexington, SC, White Knoll HS) reached on a Trojan error.  Smith would then score on a single by Logan Galliher (Taylorsville, NC, Alexander Central HS).  Anderson (3-13) would answer in the top of the second when Jonathan Zalud double and scored on a single by Josh Hickman.  In the bottom half of the second, Cody Spence (Belton, SC, Belton-Honea Path HS) and Hanlon Maivelett (Aiken, SC, Aiken HS) would single and Kozak walked to Load the bases.  Sam Cothran (Williamston, SC, Palmetto HS) would then blast a 1-2 pitch over the right center field wall for a grand slam, giving the Fleet a 6-1 lead. 

Anderson would make it a four run game in the fifth, when Kyle Bailey reached on a fielder's choice and then scored on a sacrifice fly by Nathan Galliford.  In the bottom half of the inning, Smith would single and then score when Galliher hit an opposite field home run to make it a 8-2 game and hold on for the victory.

Kozak, Smith, Galliher, Spence, and Maivelett each had two hits for the Fleet, while Cothran drove in four runs.  Chase Norman (Blacksburg, SC, Blacksburg HS) (2-0) picked up the win allowing one run on two hits in one inning of relief.

Zalud led the Trojans going 3-3 with three doubles and an RBI, while Ryan Mills was 2-4.  JT Trujillo (0-3) took the loss allowing six earned runs on eight hits in five innings of work.
