Rocky Mount, N.C. – Playing their second of three consecutive road matches, the Erskine Flying Fleet (4-2, 1-0) opened conference play with a convincing 9 to 0 win over the Barton College Bulldogs (5-3, 1-2) this evening at the Belmont Farms Racquet Club.

Erskine quickly swept the three doubles matches to take a commanding 3-0 lead into the six singles matches.

In the single matches, Erskine continued to dominate, winning all six with the closest score being 8 to 4.  Freshman Mollie Polk (Round O, SC, Pinewood Preparatory School) won her match to remain undefeated in singles play this season.

Due to inclement weather in the area, the match was moved to indoors to the three courts at the Belmont Farms Racquet Club.  The two teams agreed to alter the scoring for singles play to just one set to accommodate time constraints.

Erskine plays their third match in as many days tomorrow against the University of Mount Olive.  The match is set to begin at 2:00 p.m.
