Box Score Tigerville, S.C. – The Erskine Flying Fleet (12-5, 8-0) remained perfect in conference play with a 3-0 (26-24, 27-25, 25-20) over the Crusaders of North Greenville University (11-5, 1-4) tonight in women's volleyball action.
With the victory, Erskine extends their winning streak to eight games, their longest win streak since the program returned as a varsity sport back in 2009.
The Flying Fleet had two players contribute season-highs. Sophomore setter
Kristen Dodge (Duncan, SC, Byrnes High School) handed out a game-high 43 assists while contributing 6 digs and a service ace. For Dodge, it was the most assists in a 3 set match this season. Senior defensive specialist
Emily Kennington (Jefferson, SC, Central High School) had a big night, contributing a season-high 13 digs along with 2 blocks and an ace.
Senior
Caitlin Bullock (Lexington, SC, White Knoll High School) and junior
Kelly Sullivan (Wellington, FL, Wellington Community High School) paced the Fleet offensively. Bullock smashed a game-high 17 kills along with 6 blocks defensively to lead the Fleet while Sullivan added 13 kills with 5 blocks.
The Fleet tied a season-high with 12 blocks on the night.
The Crusaders were led by Yomi Adeyeye's 9 kills and 3 blocks.
Tonight's win coupled with Southern Wesleyan University's victory over Emmanuel sets up a confrontation between the conference's two remaining undefeated teams tomorrow at noon. SWU enters tomorrow's contest at 15-5 overall and 6-0 in conference while the Fleet are 12-5 and 8-0 in conference.
