Women's Volleyball opens season at AASU Tournament

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Savannah, GA – The Erskine Women's Volleyball Team opened their 2013 season in the two-day Armstrong Atlantic State University Tournament, dropping the first game 3-0 (16-25, 15-25, 12-25) to host Armstrong Atlantic while bouncing back to win the second game 3-1 (16-25, 25-22, 25-22, and 25-13) against Georgia Regents University, formerly Augusta State University.

Armstrong Atlantic limited the Fleet to just a .052 hitting percentage behind six team blocks.  Sophomore Kelly Sullivan (Wellington, FL, Wellington Community High School) led the Fleet with 6 kills while junior Caitlin Bullock (Lexington, SC, White Knoll High School) and freshman Campbell A.J. (Pilot Point, TX, Pilot Point HIgh School) had 5 kills each.  Junior setter Megan Johnson (Little River, SC, Scholars Academy) had 16 assists and 4 digs.

After a lackluster first set, the Fleet won the next three sets against Georgia Regents University for their first win of the season.  Complete stats of the match are not available at this time.

Erskine plays two more games tomorrow in the tournament facing the University of North Alabama at 1 p.m. and Flagler College at 4:00 p.m.
