Hilton Head, S.C. – Erskine concluded their spring break trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina, with two convincing wins over non-conference opponents St. Olaf College and Carleton College.
Yesterday the Flying Fleet swept the Lions 9 to 0. Erskine breezed through the three doubles matches 8-3, 8-2 and 8-3.
The Fleet also won all six singles, taking five of six matches in straight sets. Sophomore
Mika Goyette (Brossard, Quebec, Ecole Secondaire De Mortagne) required a third set after dropping her second set to complete the sweep for the Fleet.
Today Erskine took on Carleton College, downing the Knights 7 to 2. Erskine found themselves trailing early in match, losing two of the three doubles matches.
The two doubles losses ignited a spark in the Fleet as they crushed the Knights in straight sets in the six singles matches.
With the two victories, Erskine improves to 10-5 on the season.
Erskine returns to conference play next week facing Pfeiffer University on Thursday, April 4
th. Pfeiffer is currently undefeated in conference play at 7-0.
