Newberry, SC – The Wolves of Newberry College defeated Erskine College 8-3 Tuesday night in non conference baseball action.

Newberry would explode for four runs in the bottom of the first to take the early lead on the Fleet.  In the top of the fourth, Drew Drew Willingham (Greenwood, SC, Greenwood HS) would be hit by a pitch and then score on a double by Logan Galliher (Taylorsville, NC, Alexander Central HS).  Sam Cothran (Williamston, SC, Palmetto HS) would then hit a double to score Galliher and cut the lead to two.  Newberry would then score four runs in the next four innings to put the game out of reach.  The Fleet would try to rally in the ninth when Brandon Wooten (Taylors, SC, Blue Ridge HS) doubled and scored on a single by Phillip Herring (Dillon, SC, Dillion HS) to make it an 8-3 game, but the Wolves would get a double play to end the game.
 
Galliher led the Fleet at the plate going 3-4 with a double and RBI, while Cothran and Herring each added a hit and a run batted in.  Dustin Sherbert (Mayo, SC, Chesnee HS) took the loss allowing four runs on five hits in one inning of work.
