Mt. Olive, N.C. – For the second straight day, Erskine knocked off a conference opponent 9-0; this time blowing past the Trojans of Mount Olive College in women’s tennis action at the Walker Tennis Center.
In the doubles competition, Erskine had little difficulty winning all three matches.
Erskine won five of the six singles matches in straight sets as
Miranda Guthrie (Suwanee, GA, Home-schooled),
Victoria Stephens (Cumming, GA, South Forsyth High School), and
Sarah McDonald (Cottageville, SC, Colleton Preparatory Academy) all won 6-1, 6-0. At #3 singles, senior
Abby O'Reilly (Acworth, GA, Harrison High School) required three sets to win her match as she dropped the second set 4-6.
Erskine remains perfect in conference at 4-0 and has yet to surrender a match, winning all four matches 9-0. Overall the Fleet won their fifth match in a row to climb to 5-2 overall.
Erskine does not play again until next Saturday when they step out of conference to play the Pacers of USC-Aiken. The match is to begin at noon.
