Due West, SC – The Flying Fleet offense continued to click on all cylinders, pounding out 15 hits in a 12-4 non conference victory over Augusta State Tuesday afternoon.

The Jaguars took the lead in the top of the first when JD Sabo led off with a double and then scored on a single by Taylor Camp.  In the top of the second, Kevin Dodson would lead off with a single and score on a double by Sabo to give Augusta State (9-14) a 2-0 lead.   Erskine (16-8) would answer with five runs in the bottom half of the inning to take the lead.  Cody Spence (Belton, SC, Belton-Honea Path HS) would lead off with a single and advance to second on a single by Hanlon Maivelett (Aiken, SC, Aiken HS).  With one out, Brandon Wooten (Taylors, SC, Blue Ridge HS) would line a triple into right center to tie the game up.  Zack Jones (Anderson, SC, USC Sumter) would then lay down a bunt single to score Wooten to give the Fleet the lead.  Chase Corn (Travelers Rest, SC, Blue Ridge HS) would then blast a home run over the right field fence to make it a 5-2 game.  Erskine would add two more runs in the fourth on a RBI double by Sam Cothran (Williamston, SC, Palmetto HS) and an RBI ground out by Logan Galliher (Taylorsville, NC, Alexander Central HS). They would then go on to add five more runs over the last five innings to take the victory. 

Cothran was 3-5 with two RBI’s to lead the Fleet, while Spence was 3-5 with a triple and run scored.  Drew Willingham (Greenwood, SC, Greenwood HS) finished the game 2-5 with a home run and three RBI’s and Corn and Wooten each had two hits and two runs driven in.  Zach McAllister (Simpsonville, SC, Hillcrest HS) (3-2) picked up the win allowing three hits and striking out one in one inning of relief work.
